Methods

Every Carroway note has a method section with its own sources, dates and definitions. The standards below apply to all of them.

Sources

• Business listings. Named data sets of US business listings, with the date the counts were computed.
• Sending data. Aggregated results from outbound email programs, reported only as totals and rates.
• Published prices. Read from each vendor's own website on a stated date, with the page linked.
• Event and sponsorship records. Public exhibitor lists, sponsor pages and rate cards, with dates.

Standards

• Every percentage has its sample size and date range next to it.
• Percentages are rounded to one decimal place. Counts are given in full.
• Definitions and exclusions are written out in the note's method section.
• Every chart and table has a CSV file on the note page.

Updates

Notes show a published date and, when revised, an updated date. Notes built on data that changes are refreshed on the schedule stated in the note.
